Autumn 2023 Feedback
Engage · Aspire · Excel
Thank You ‘Tell us at Tiffin’ launched in September as a platform for parents to voice their comments, suggestions and feedback on all aspects of Tiffin life. It has been a highly successful initiative, providing the school with lots of positive comments (see right), as well as helpful ways to continue to improve the provision we provide. Thank you to all the parents who have taken the time to use this platform so far; every comment submitted is read by the Senior Leadership Team and being addressed by members of staff. We really appreciate hearing your views and have summarised some of the ways in which we have taken this feedback on board and implemented changes. We hope that ‘Tell us at Tiffin’ will continue to be well- used throughout the upcoming Spring term and, as always, please feel free to leave your feedback by accessing the form below.

“ Just a note to say how pleased I am in the sense of pride that the school has created for my boys in attending Tiffin. Thank you for creating this feedback platform and giving parents a voice.
There are so many opportunities besides studying that the students are exposed to.
Love the new website and newsletter format, as well as the overall improved communications.
Mr Williams has a personable manner and we appreciate his simple and clear communications.
The School has found the right balance between being nurturing and ensuring good behaviour.
Tiffin has made our son’s transition to a big secondary school so easy; he is very happy and confident at Tiffin already.

Chomebooks are working well and are especially helpful for homework.
Communication You Said...
“ “
It would be great if INSIGHT could be improved to make it easier to navigate and quicker to load. It is especially slow when switching between profiles for multiple children and some days, doesn’t work at all. ” ” Please can there be clear reminders of key dates and compressed days? The calendar is not always clear and neither are the term dates on the website. “ ” The school should increase its social media presence. Lots of parents find these platforms helpful to look at when making a decision about sending their child to the school and so it would help raise Tiffin’s pubic profile. “ ” It would be great to read more about the sports fixtures each week in the Headteacher’s Newsletter alongside other team successes.

We Did...
We recognise that whilst the information on INSIGHT is very useful, it is not the most effective system for parent information. Therefore, throughout the Autumn Term we have met with various leading Parent Portal providers in order to find the best soloution for our school. A new Parent Portal will be in place for September 2024, replacing INSIGHT.
We ensure we celebrate a variety of team success in the weekly Headteacher’s Newsletter, including reports from a range of sports such as Netball, Cross Country, Rugby and Chess, highlighting their achievements at fixtures from across the week.
We have added a new section to the Headteacher’s Newsletter, ‘ In Case You Missed’ , which lists any upcoming changes to the schools’ regular routine, eg, condensed days. We are publishing these at least two weeks in advance. We have also improved the term dates information on the website to show staff training days and other helpful dates.
We are pleased to announce we will be creating new social media accounts over the upcoming weeks in order to improve and streamline our presence across these channels and showcase daily life at Tiffin.

Facilities You Said...
“
The boys have mentioned the cleanliness of the toilets at school. This has resulted in some students not wanting to use the facilities, especially at break and lunch times. ” My son has commented on some broken doors and seats in the toilets meaning not all are in use during busy times. “ ” We Did... We have increased the cleaning regime to ensure the toilets are kept in a clean and hygienic manner. In addition to our usual cleaning schedule, we have extended the hours of our cleaning team to maintain the toilets at regular intervals throughout the day, including before and after break and lunch time. We hope this will enable all students to confidently use the faclities as and when they need to. As communicated to parents at the time of installation, there is CCTV in the public areas of the pupil toilets. Since being in place, levels of anti-social behaviour have decreased and, alongside the increased cleaner presence mentioned above and the repairing of locks, we hope that this will result in the toilets operating at full capacity during busy times.

Uniform You Said...
“
“
On the grounds of sustainability and cost to families, why does the school have a new blazer for Year 11 students?
Please can the school consider an alternative to Year 11 having their own blazer.
”
”
We Did...
As of September 2024, students in Year 10 will wear the blue blazer, alongside Year 11. This change will result in each Key Stage having their own idenity as follows:
• Key Stage 3 (Y7-Y9) - Striped Blazer • Key Stage 4 (Y10-Y11) - Blue Blazer • Key Stage 5 (Y12-Y13) - Sixth Form Dress Code
Not only will this change be more cost effective for parents, but is also more environmentally friendly and sustainable. Whilst this change to the uniform policy will not come into place until September 2024, if a Year 10’s striped blazer is becoming too small, they are welcome to purchase and wear a navy blazer from the start of the Spring Term (04/01/24). 7
